#getthehattoERYKAH

After finding out that Ms. Badu would be blessing the turn tables in Brooklyn, I immediately wanted to design a custom made hat for Ms. ERYKAH BADU herself.

We did MISSION POSSIBLE!

Even though tickets were sold out of the show, my sister and I planned to get the hat to her anyway (We constantly repeated that we had God on our side.) We started the mission by creating a hashtag on instagram called "#getthehattoERYKAH".  Then we asked our friends to hashtag the pictures with this hashtag to try and get ERYKAH's attention. We started to post on several social media outlets including: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Now it is April 2nd, the day of the show. We showed up to Brooklyn Bowl at 6:00pm. My sister worked her magic words and spoke to the bouncer at the door, letting him know why we needed to get inside this venue. The bouncer finally let us in and we became overly excited.

Just 1 step closer.....

We stayed inside that venue from 6:00pm until 12:00am (that's when Erykah was going to blessed the stage). We finally made our way to the front of the stage and waited until she came out. After she killed it by mixing several hits and beats, we were able to get her attention and she came over and accepted the hat with open arms and then embraced me by grabbing my hands and giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek.

WITH THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF MY SISTER TAYLOR KNIGHTON AND THE DETERMINATION TO GET THIS HAT TO HER, WE DID THE MISSION POSSIBLE! Thank you to everyone who contributed in helping me get this hat to her! You all are greatly appreciated!

WE LOVE YOU ERYKAH BADU!

STAY TUNED TO SEE WHO I'M GOING TO GIFT NEXT!
